$7.6 Million Settlement with Importer Alexis LLC to Resolve Customs Fraud Allegations

Whistleblower Partners attorneys represented the whistleblower in a $7.6 million False Claims Act settlement against luxury womenswear importer Alexis LLC in which the government intervened and settled claims that Alexis had knowingly underreported the value of its garments, including by allegedly failing to apportion the value of fabric and garment trim assists and using a double invoicing scheme, to avoid duties and tariffs owed to the United States government.  The whistleblower received a Relator’s share of $1.4 million.
